Placing cute dogs, cats, and critters with new families is one of the many things they do for animals in the community. They also provide many healthcare services, education, and shelter for our furry friends. Genie agrees with our local Stark County Humane Society's mission and we are pleased to donate to help them continue this mission. "We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and with the support of our members, employees, and volunteers, we hope to do so for many years to come."
At a corporate training event, Genie employees were offered another chance to give back. The Genie employees participated in a Wheelchairs for Warriors® giveback activity, hosted by Full-Throttle Goodness. Twenty wheelchairs were built by team members that were then donated, to the Dallas VA Medical Center, which were then provided to veterans in need.
The Genie Company supports the City of Hope to help battle cancer. Founded in 1913, City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, making it a national leader in advancing research and treatment protocols. For over a decade, City of Hope has been deemed one of the nation’s elite cancer hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and is currently recognized as the leading cancer hospital.
This organization was founded by dedicated professionals within the overhead garage door industry. Their mission at VLO, Vertical Lift Outreach, is to lend a helping hand to their fellow members in the access control industry during challenging times. They provide vital assistance in moments of tragedy. This caring community of support aligns with The Genie Companies' industry and values, making it a great organization for us to support.
The Genie Company started a 5K Run/Walk thirteen years ago to promote wellness, comradery, and community. All proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society. The 2024 race was a great success!
Many of our team members were impacted by Hurricane Sally. The Genie Company and Employees took donations to help out those members as we feel it is important to help each other out.
The Genie Company proudly supports WyoGives and their nonprofit partner the Fur Kids Foundation. WyoGives is an initiative to bring the state of Wyoming together for an online 24-hour day of giving, all supporting the Wyoming Nonprofit Network.
The Fur Kids Foundation uses donations from this day of giving to provide emergency assistance for families with pets in need, but they don't stop there. They also promote and educate the importance of responsible pet ownership and care and develop relationships with businesses that support pets and their owners in the Cambell County region.
Employees select families to help for the holiday season from Genie's "Giving Tree" set up at our headquarters. We proudly support A Community Christmas which was organized over 60 years ago. Their organization continues to follow its original purpose: To provide assistance to those in need during the holiday season and help to prevent duplication of those services.
Our employees collect food and monetary donations for our local food bank. We are proud to support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank that was formed in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to our neighbors in need.
Coats for kids of Holmes County provides coats for kids in need. We agree that is important, especially here in Ohio with the severe weather we can face, that all kids are properly covered for the winter. Genie employees collect hats, coats, and monetary donations for this charity.
BridgeHaven Academy opened its doors in January 2017 as a private, not-for-profit school. The academy's mission is to strive to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success through developmentally appropriate and differentiated instruction that allows and encourages individual differences and learning styles. They presume competence for all of their students and believe in their ability to communicate using a variety of methods to learn through meaningful academic content. The Genie Company is a proud supporter of this mission.
Genie employees hold food drives to provide local families with food through donations given directly to the Love Center of Holmes County. This pantry operates as a "Choice" food pantry that resembles a grocery store. This allows clients to choose the products that are most suitable for their families needs.
